About SaPoDilla's

Authentic Caribbean Restaurant, Bakery and Catering

Marva Kitt - Owner - grew up among a family of bakers in Guyana, and was already catering out of her home kitchen when she moved to Maryland with her family 14 years ago. Opening a restaurant was a natural progression of this heritage, and that's how SaPoDilla's Authentic Caribbean Restaurant, Bakery and Catering was born in March 2007 in Fort Washington.

SaPoDilla's — named after a succulent tropical fruit — is run by Marva Kitt and many of her family members, including her husband Wilken Kitt and her daughter Samantha Abrams (Kitt).

SaPoDilla's is an authentic Caribbean restaurant offering a delicious award-winning Caribbean cuisine. Stew Snapper From the Caribbean waters of Guyana, Curry Chicken, Oxtails and Jerk Chicken are some of the mouthwatering favorites. Aside from the restaurant menu, SaPoDilla's keeps busy with catering orders and also provides special order cakes, such as rum fruit cake, black cake, wedding cakes and more. For the Kitt family, keeping the food fresh and flavors authentic is paramount to running their restaurant. Many spices are imported from Guyana and Trinidad, such as Guyanese thyme, curry, jeera (cumin) and garam masala.

While that remains successful, the Kitt are looking to expand, and hope to open a new, much larger restaurant in a different location in the future.

"This has been our dream!"
